The iPhone. I know, this little device has been in the news more than the daily weather has. That doesn’t make it any less great of a tool for real estate professionals. The iPhone is a smart phone, and there are lots of different makes and models available. But this phone has a few features that will help you stand out with your clients and help you work more efficiently.
First syncing your phone with your computer will allow you to transfer all of your contacts to the phone and take them with you on the go; make changes to your contacts on the phone, they will be updated on the computer and vice versa. Another great sync feature is with your calendar, now you can take all of your appointments with you on the go along with being able to add new ones easily and quickly. These are a few common features among smart phones, but the iPhone has a few more tricks up its sleeve.
Email One of the great features that stand out with the iPhone is email. The Blackberry created the email on the go craze but the iPhone perfected the usability. Viewing .docs, .pdf’s or .xls files is simple and fluid. Zooming in with the touch of a finger and moving the document around couldn’t be more natural. Not to mention you get a 3.5 inch screen for viewing documents, larger than most smart phones on the market. Tip: Having email on the go can help you improve your customer service, being able to answer your clients quickly while out of the office. Another advantage is the ability to respond back to potential clients right then and there when you receive the email, that way you don’t lose out to another agent.
Photo and Video The iPhone’s large bright display offers up a great opportunity for you to show off your properties to clients through video or photos. Edit your photos with iPhoto on your Mac to make them look their best, then upload them to your phone to show off to clients. If you have a virtual tour you can also play that as a video on your phone allowing clients to view the home. Tip: If you want to show your clients a virtual tour of a home for sale while out at lunch or on the go you can download the video using the iPhones YouTube application (if the video is on YouTube) or browse to the website where the video is located and watch it from the Safari web browser. No more dumb down mobile Internet; on the iPhone you get full access to the Internet with the iPhone’s Safari browser.
So check out the iPhone if you’re in the market for a great smart phone. Let us know any other tips and tricks of the iPhone that you’ve used.
