fidel-george.jpgCuba announced today that they are opening up mobile phone service to the general public. This seems to be the first step in expanding freedoms to the island’s residents and openness of communication with the outside world. Previously, cell phone service was limited to government officials or people working for foreign companies.

We welcome Cuba to the mobile world, and look forward to seeing how this increase in communication affects the country and its neighbors.
